HELP BUY BACK THE BERMAGUI TREES
The local community is raising funds to buy the 10 "cathedral" spotted gums that Forests NSW says will be logged at the northern entrance to Bermagui town. We estimate that the revenue to ForestsNSW will be less than $1500 - assuming that the trees become sawlogs, not pulplogs. Why destroy this important area of forest for such a small financial return?
Chipstop is part of a local campaign to raise funds to buy back these trees from Forests NSW.

If insufficient funds are raised to cover the royalty value of the 10 trees, or if Forests NSW refuses to accept our bid to buy the trees, all funds raised will be used in the campaign to end native forest woodchipping in the south east.
